Useful Keyboard Shortcuts You SHOULD Know! - Windows Edition

Working on a PC can make your life a lot easier, but if you ever feel like you want to move faster, shortcuts can be a great help to speed up your work flow with no compromises. You may of heard that there are hundreds of shortcuts, and understandably, that can be super overwhelming. Let’s make this easier for you shall we? Grab your keyboard, throw away your mouse (don’t really), here are 10 Shortcuts you NEED to know…

Shortcuts on Windows

CTRL + C

Commands

Copies whatever is highlighted, be that text, image, file, or folder. This is stored in whats known as your “Clipboard”

CTRL + X

Cuts whatever is highlighted, be that text, image, file, or folder. This is stored in whats known as your “Clipboard”

CTRL + V

Pastes the last copied or cut item from the clipboard into your selected field

CTRL + Z

Undo an action – This one is super useful!

CTRL + Y

Redo an action – The opposite of the previous (Not as useful as the previous but worth knowing)

CTRL + A

Selects or highlights all content in a field or a page

CTRL + P

If applicable, this opens up the print page

ALT + TAB

Switches between open apps, tabs, or pages 

CTRL + E

Opens up your file explorer 

PRTSC (Print Screen)

Takes a “Print” (a screenshot) of your page and saves it to the Clipboard 

Of course there are many more to learn if you really wish, but hopefully but just memorising a few of these you can supercharge your workflow. If you struggle to remember all of them, don’t worry! Just focus on one or two and then slowly you can build up your shortcut repertoire.
